Four seasons means four different stresses

A KC garage floor sees thermal expansion in July, chloride attack in January, humidity-driven condensation in the spring, and abrasion year-round. A rigid epoxy handles none of these especially well. Polyaspartic handles all of them, which is why it dominates in variable-climate markets.

Rock salt versus brine

Both Missouri and Kansas sides use heavy winter road treatment. Rock salt tracked in as crystals abrades the surface mechanically as cars roll over it; brine soaks in chemically. A sealed floor addresses both, and a coated slab can simply be rinsed clean at the end of winter.

Spring condensation is a local quirk

In early spring, a cold slab meets warm humid air and the floor visibly sweats. On bare concrete that is just annoying. During an install it is a bond failure waiting to happen, which is why crews check dew point rather than air temperature and often condition the space before coating.
